The HFT Stuttgart design was chosen during the winter semester 2008/09 in a multi-phase process from the various projects submitted by students of the Master programme in Architecture. In the summer semester, this design was further developed and optimised by Master students in Architecture and other programmes at the HFT Stuttgart. In total approximately 90 students from the Master programmes in Architecture, Sustainable Energy Competence (SENCE), Constructive Engineering as well as the Bachelor programmes in Building Physics and Interior Architecture were involved. They were supported by their professors and the Insitute of Building Energy Reseach (zafh.net) at the HFT Stuttgart.
During the winter semester 2009/10 the individual tasks were defined precisely and new team structures were created. In total, 15 students are working in the structural implementation of the design and the analysis of the climatic concept. The next milestone is the submission of the working drawings in mid September. Planned is the delivery of the prefabricated modules to Stuttgart at the end of this year and the construction of the building will begin.
